29k Mile Classic: 1973 Opel GT
Many classic cars have a good wreck-to-whip ratio, that is to say that a nice example costs considerably more than a trashed version. The difference in price for something like a Porsche 911, fastback Mustang, or C2 Corvette might tempt you into buying one that has some needs, but when you get into more affordable cars, it almost always makes sense to buy a nice example, and some cars you should just buy the nicest one you can find. Like this 1973 Opel GT here on eBay
bidding for $6,000 reserve-not-met located in Deming, NM with 3 days to go. Tip from Rene.
The Opel GT was built from mechanical components from the Kadett B and body built by the French railway coach builder Brissonneau & Lotz (who also built the Renault Floride/Caravelle). Up front are unique pop-up headlights that are manually opened (both rotating counterclockwise) by driver operated lever.
This GT uses the larger 1.9 liter inline-4 mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The Opel 4-banger puts out 102 horsepower, which won’t make it perform like a 3/4 scale Corvette, but it’ll keep up with similarly priced vintage iron.

I just wanna leave a thumbs up for this one, I've always loved these. Would love to ride in one someday.
@Scott
Buy this car! Looks like a solid example, never seen one with a tan interior, gets stares on the road overtime I take mine out. Tons of fun to drive.
Always loved the lines of this car. Sure, every car geek knows it's an Opel. But something is so reminiscent of 1960s Ferraris and Maseratis, to me… just beautiful. It's up to around $10K. Still a steal, if you love that body…

almost had it, stan – you had an extra space after href, and you need to put in text between the ><
<a href=" coachbuild.com/index.php?Itemid=38&id=72&option=com_content&task=view>click here to see the breadvan</a>
hang on, also need the second " at the end of the URL – let's see if i got it this time
click here to see the breadvan
anyway, all you need to do is copy the example below, replace the URL and description, and make sure not to remove any other characters or add spaces – if you're on a phone or tablet, autocorrect can sometimes mess things up, not your fault – see also damnyouautocorrect.com – do not be drinking milk or eating oatmeal when you read those 😉
aaaaaand, the damnyouautocorrect link didn't work – yeeesh – i think i left off the part – trying again…
