A few years ago I owned and drove a used 3rd generation F-body and I’m not going to say it was a bad car, but let’s just say that it is not an experience I am anxious to repeat. It was slow and unsophisticated, but mine was an 84 Z28 and I didn’t have a rare last year of the generation 25th Anniversary edition. The 25th Anniversary Heritage Edition was supposed to be equipped with Corvette alloy cylinder heads, a 6-speed manual, and tubular exhaust, but the bean counters at GM decided that a graphics package is what buyers wanted for their extra cash. However, today’s example is offered for a decent deal and looks to be ready to go. Find this 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS offered for $6,800 in Stamford, CT via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS – 25th Anniversary Heritage Edition. 1 of 500 ever made with the green and gold paint scheme, in the last half of 1992 the lasts months this generation of Camaro was made. I am the third owner, clean car – runs and drives perfectly.
5.0 Liter V8 engine paired to a Tremek T-56 6-speed manual transmission, topped with a Hurst short throw sifter, all retrofitted from a 1997 Z-28. The 1992 model never came from the factory with a 6-speed manual, making this Camaro nearly one of a kind! Transmission was rebuilt by A-1 transmission of Norwalk and put in at 133k miles, giving it about 15k miles since installed. 6th gear gets very high mpg highway!
K&N Intake included, as well as a Borla adjustable Cat-back exhaust. Exhaust is adjustable o passenger side to allow for closed, 1″, 2″, and 3″ open exhaust, bypassing the muffler. Currently set at 3″ open, loud and proud. T-Tops are in good shape, no leakage, weather-stripping in good shape. This car has been garaged as previous owner did. Body is in great condition for its age. Some signs of wear and tear however. Small dent on passenger rear fender, some scratched and cracking paint in the front clip. Interior is in good condition. Dash has finally conceded to cracking, as all years of this Camaro do. Could certainly use a new headliner.
Mechanically the only thing I know is wrong is the heat and a/c blower does not work. Replaced the fuse and the switch, probably the blower motor. Brand new Pioneer radio and front speakers.
