20k: Long Slumber: 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 “Barn” Find
Spend any time in any 69 Fastback Mustang and people will routinely ask you if it is a Mach 1. There is something about the Mach 1 name that stirs the imagination, even if it was simply a cosmetic option (although it did require a minimum of 351W V8, but you could get that in the regular SportsRoof version). It wasn’t like the option package was rare (75k in ’69) but sellers today ask a premium for anything with the Mach 1 logo on it and finding a sub $20k example is unusual. Find this 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 “Barn” find
currently bidding for $17,700 reserve-not-met with less than an hour to go.
Checking the Mach 1 option on the ’69 Mustang order sheet meant you got the following as a minimum; fastback style, 351W, 3spd manual, 9inch 21-spline rear end, matte black hood with racing style pins, hood scoop, pop-up gas cap and sport suspension.
This “budget” M-code Wimbledon white example looks great for a car that hasn’t run since 1993 and is claimed to be in great condition aside from an overheating issue and a few small rust spots behind each wheel. This is the car that you fix the cooling issue (probably head gaskets) and drive as a survivor.

$17,700 – bidding ended and didn't hit the reserve. Wonder what it was?
I know it's easy to criticize crappy listings, but Jesus, this is phoning it in. I listed a Renault Fuego for $500 with 3X as many pictures and 10X the word count…
+1 …my sentiments exactly. If a seller doesn't show much in the way of interest or inclination, then probably any possible buyers will pick up on that and walk away due to lack of interest displayed.
They came…they saw nothing…and so they left.
