Whale of a Ride: 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 W221
This next car has me tempted to violate my “no white car” rule. Trucks / vans / teeth / sneakers all look great in white, but cars should be a color…green, blue, red, orange, whatever. But this next car left the Sindelfingen factory in 2007 with a 388 horsepower V8 and a $90k MSRP before adding options, and I’m not as offended by the white paint as I should be. Today, it is offered for 1/9th of that original factory fresh price and it has at least 1/9th of its life left before it turns into scrap. I’d go with that dusty dark W126 “nautikblauâ€, I believe it was called, would be stately af with that black leather and dark wood.
Yeah, this is my living like a king luxury ride of choice. At 45 I’m still not mature enough to really consider one yet.
I would also love it in nautical blue and natural brown interior. These cars are so difficult to find north of the border in RWD (NO 4-Matik).
Wouldn’t you want them 4Matic when North of the border? But I guess they’d be more reliable and more fun with just rear-wheel-drive.
