2007 Chevrolet Impala SS

LS swap the world, they say. GM decided to both mimic and one-up the enthusiast crowd by dropping an LS into a place it should never have gone; a front wheel drive sedan. That’s right, you can call the first responders directly from your Onstar, right after you break your hands off of your wrists off with the dull blade of monumental torque steer. Be the undisputed front-wheel-drive burnout champion of the universe with this 2007 Chevrolet Impala SS on craigslist in Detroit, MI for $5,500. This
post is part of DT’s 2016 Birthday Celebration of 100 cars;
enjoy the ride!

The GM W-Platform cars got a shortened version of the LS, called the LS4. This incorporated 5.3L displacement and a slightly shorter crankshaft at the nose and the tail, along with an aluminum block with a GM FWD bellhousing pattern. Fiero swap anyone? If there’s one advantage to 62% front weight distribution, it’s that the extra load on the tires makes for copious amounts of heat and smoke buildup.
