1927 Bugatti Type 35: 1963 Volkswagen Beetle Kit Car

This might sound like a strange thing to say, but I’m going to say it anyway; This isn’t a bad looking Beetle based Bugatti kit car. I know that sounds crazy, but this thing isn’t bad looking, not just for a kit car, but for any car. I wouldn’t put it in the automotive hall of fame and I certainly want a better shot of the rear end…but for 50 Benjamins, this isn’t bad at all. Find this 1963 Volkswagen Beetle Kit Car offered for $5000 in Atlanta, GA via craigslist. Tip from Matt C.

Do you enjoy the feeling of wind on your face? if so, this is a great car for you! 1927 Bugatti Type 35 kit. Built on a 1963 VW chassis with 1971 1600 VW running gear. Spoke wheels all around. Fiberglass body never rusts! Car could use new interior, but is a blast just the way it is.

Pretty sure the real ’27 Type 35 didn’t have fenders, but that would be an easy fix.
Agree that it’s a good lookin’ car.

-Stan (…the *other* Stan…)
This one is currently mine! Stan is correct in the fender thought. Original Type 35s had cast aluminum 19″ wheels. This one currently sports Model A true spoke wheels with adapters added to the VW hub for the pairing. I made the front emblem from scratch a few years ago as originals were costing $300+ when found at the time. One could say that this is a true Bugatti now that VW purchased Bugatti several years ago. LOL. I know, kind of a stretch.
Boat tail pictures look good. You might want to update ad to correct Bugatti spelling in the title. Or perhaps you want to state it is a
Bug-gatti! It looks like lots of fun
Did this car sell?
Well a similar one on BAT did for three times the price!

Thanks for the reply. I’d seen that. It is amazing how many different ways builders managed to line up the various body elements. The outlines vary greatly.
I found the missing boat tail pics and added them to the listing.
