15k: Some Imagination Required: 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider
The
Giulietta Spider was a Pininfarina styled compact roadster built by Alfa Romeo from 1955
to 1965. Today, the Spider is a classic by any definition and finding any example that isn’t rusted to
pieces for under $20k is unusual and noteworthy. Find this 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Tipo 101 currently bidding for $12,100 on ebay, located in Daytona Beach, FL with 4 days to go. Tip from Ignacio.
The Alfa Spider isn’t the more common spider you’ve seen driving around in The Graduate, this is the real deal, an honest piece of hand formed steel and aluminum formed by fat thumbed Italian guys in the Poretllo factory in Milan. It is the quintessential Italian roadster and nice/special versions demand big chunks of your 401k.
Restoring one isn’t going to be cheap either and it is going to require a large chunk of change to specialty shops with anvils in the back. Forget restoring this in your garage, you can do some of the work, but a large portion requires the expertise of specialists who live in the nicer section of town.

That is dreaming, not imagination .
The Alfa i tipped a week or so ago was better then this & 7K cheaper !
While it may not have the same cachet as this Alfa, for my money I think i'd look for a pre-1973 Fiat 124 Spider. Very similar styling (also penned by Pininfarina), similar rev-happy twin cam engine, same Italian open-top flair…
