15k Flash: NotaGTR: 1980 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-EX Turbo

Every so often we find a JDM (that is Japanese Domestic Market for the older folks in the room…ahem) ride that has made a grey-market trip to the US.  Asking prices will often be out of wack with the level of performance and usability, but you won’t be able to beat the cool factor of fender mirrors and right hand drive…both of which make the car less useable on our streets.  Whatever, we still like it.  Find this 1980 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-EX for sale in Archbald, PA currently bidding for $14,000 with a few hours to go.

The JDM converted US versions of Japanese cars flock to weekly car shows across the nation, but actual Japanese grey-market cars are much more rare, when not being chased by US Customs officers…but that whole R33 Skyline saga is in the past…

The C210 generation GT-EX is powered by a 2.0 liter inline-6 cylinder turbocharged (but not intercooled) engine that put 145 horsepower and 152 ft-lbs of torque.

A cool 1980s retro dash setup cheerily greets the driver…

According to our sources the GTR name was not used on a Skyline between  1973 and 1989, but that hasn’t stopped the owner of this car from gluing on GTR emblems to ever flat surface.  Regardless, we think it could be a cool car to drive around and it costs less than a new Corolla…how badly could it go wrong?
