12k Flash: Call me Ishmael: 1973 Ford Torino Sport 429 1-Owner

The Ford Gran Torino was disassociated from the Fairlane line in 1972 and became its own monstrous body-on-frame cruiser outfitted with a lineup of tremendous big-block V8s.  Someone is about to get a steal on this 1973 Ford Torino Sport with 429 currently bidding on ebay for $12,200 with 1 hour to go (located in Oxnard, CA).

This white whale is striking in appearance and looks great with California black plates that have no business hanging on a post-1969 car and in no way are legal for street use…but they do look cool in the pictures.

A few harpoons in the side won’t slow down this beast because it is powered by a 429 cubic inch (7.0 liter) big block V8 that was smog choked to 189 horsepower in 1973…but could be easily opened up with some modifications.

This interior looks great and we can forgive the automatic because this is a cruiser, not an apex carver.
