10k: Speeding Bullitt: 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt
The fifth generation S197 Mustang was launched in 2005 with well executed retrostyle design and more power from the available V6 and V8 engines. The design was clean and simple in the V6 models, but got some fancy wings and junk in the V8 GT trim, unless you got the limited Bullitt edition from 2008 or 2009. The Bullitt package was an appearance and power package available only on GT models in dark highland green (or black) and added some serious Steve McQueen cool to the S197. Find this 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt
for sale in Fort Lauderdale, FL for $12,500 buy-it-now on ebay with 4 days to go.
For an additional $3,300 on top of the GT premium’s $30k+ price tag, buyers could have this 2008 Bullitt package Mustang. This will probably be a future collector’s item, but today the S197 Mustang is still dropping in price, but at a 60% discount from original price it brings a lot of modern performance/style/reliability/new-stuff for a reasonable price.
Power comes from a slightly upgraded 4.6 liter modular V8, that makes an additional 15 hp from a cold air intake for a total of 315 horsepower and 325 ft-lbs of torque. The Bullitt edition has a modifed exhaust that is supposed to sound like the GT390 from the movie, but some of the sound clips from the movie were clearly from a paddle shifted race car of some kind Ford GT40, so who knows if the exhaust note will remind you of cruising around the bay area fighting crime.
The inside of the Bullitt edition includes leather seats, a brushed aluminum dash and a Bullitt decal on the center of the steering wheel. Other Bullitt additions include a cleaned up grill, stiffer suspension, 18-inch black torque-thrust look-a-like wheels and a high gear ratio in the rear-end.

Sold. Damn that was fast.
Did someone on here buy it? Fess up!!
I thought it looked like a great deal until I noticed it had a rebuilt title. Maybe it was repaired beautifully well, maybe not, but the title is always going to have the taint of "rebuilt" and future owners are always going to have to deal with the questions when selling the car.
$12k for a rebuilt / reconstructed title, tacky hood pins / aftermarket hood, out-of-place cobra emblems on the front fenders, missing lower-grille, mismatched el-cheapo tires (snow sipes in the back!?), aftermarket center caps, awful "carbon fiber look" vinyl on the rear end, aftermarket front indicators, rusty rear suspension'd "Collectors Item"? Thanks, but I'll pass.
Good point. You don't buy these things for performance because $12k can get you a stinkin fast Mustang. And the iffy title plus questionable modifications don't bode well for the collectibility of it. I would pass as well.
On the other hand, if a rebuilt or salvage title doesn't bother you (and frankly there are so many different reasons why a vehicle might be issued one or the other, not to mention that different States use these terms interchangeably, so the only way to be certain of the car is to inspect it yourself) — there happens to be a 2008 Bullitt Mustang for sale at a dealer in NC for $10,998. hannaimports.com/detail.aspx?vid=335_V20131119162457
The problem with a rebuilt or salvage title is that most potential future buyers won't even look beyond the title (see first comment). Count me among them. So you either buy it for the long haul or not at all because it'll be a really tough sell down the road. The fact that this car has no documentation of the accident repair is the icing on a bad cake. Pass.
The Mustang in NC(two comments up) has a salvage title also.. "Low Low Miles 49k GT with the BULLITT package with SALVAGE TITLE Visit hannaimports.com to view free vehicle report."
Did everyone who bought one of these wreck them????
Yes? Because Bullitt Jump
