10k: SLKhrysler: 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6
The Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 was a rare bright spot from the dark ages of the unholy Daimler-Chrysler union. Out of all the brand whoring and platform pimping the Crossfire used the Mercedes R170 SLK class platform and wrapped in a “Made In Detroit” cover. Find this 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 for sale in El Paso, TX for $11,000 via autotrader.com. Tip from Philip G.
Now, I know the first thing you are thinking is: How does autotrader still exist? They stopped making print issues back in 2012 and craigslist offers the same service for free. For some reason there is still a demographic that is die-hard autotrader- mostly guys in their 50s who remember fondly heading to the local 7-11 and picking up a copy of the big name in used car sales for decades, and haven’t bother to find out about the alternatives.
The SRT-6 version of the Crossfire didn’t use any MOPAR or Street and Racing Technology tricks- it just picked the AMG SLK32 engine from the Mercedes-Benz price list. The supercharged 3.2 liter V6 makes 330 horsepower and 310 ft-lbs of torque, and is always mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission.
The SRT-6 Crossfire was only available for two years (2005-2006) and was built in limited quantities, so don’t expect the prices to be low forever. See a better 300+ horsepower late model car for less? email us here: tips@dailyturismo.com
