10k: Presidential: 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limo
The ninth generation of Cadillac’s Fleetwood (1966-1970) was a monster of a sedan/limousine that shared common styling cues with the smaller Series 62 & De Ville, but was an entirely different breed of machine. Everything on the Fleetwood is larger than life and handles like a granite statue of an automobile — but if you are a family man looking for the non-minivan in your
garage plus sized driveway, this could be it. Find this 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limo offered for $10,000 in Vancouver, BC, Canada via hemmings.
Tipping the scales at a full sized brodozer shaming 5,800 lbs, the Fleetwood is powered by a 429 cubic inch Cadillac V8 that was rated at 340 SAE gross horsepower when new. You can comfortably drive this thing anywhere with seating for 9 (3 up front, 3 in rear, and 3 in the middle IIRC) as long as you can afford the tug boat sized fuel bill.
See a better car for the family man with a company gas card? tips@dailyturismo.com
Now who would want to drive such a big car? Why, there's not even a glass-enclosed cargo area. "See a better car for the family man with a company gas card?" Well, yeah, right here.
Exactly, KBZ.
Well, this one has that kind of Jet Set Junta thing going for it.
Thanks for that, mrk
Wow, talk about "good from far, but far from good". Those close up shots of the paint (and body?) crackling are a let down.
The Hemmings write up says it was a Corporate Limo in Ontario during its working life. That was (and remains) one of the Salt Hell Holes of North America (ask me how I know). I would want to examine this one closely with a magnet in hand, and to check that claim of original paint.
All that being said, I bet you could get away with parking this thing ANYWHERE you felt like.
Part of me really wants to buy this thing, quit my job, and become an uber limo driver
must be the latent or not so latent elitist in me but I love this thing. I owned a '60 caddy limo once owned by a deposed Mexican President and I had a '65 sedan De Ville. As with a '37 Ford Brewster limo or a '57 Imperial Ghia…. I just can't get enough of these coach built limos…….must stay away from the atm card
