10k: Fast Cat: 2005 Jaguar S-Type R
The Jaguar S-Type was built from 1999-2008 on a shared platform with the Lincoln LS during Ford’s control of the British car company. The $60k MSRP supercharged R version is the only one to get and featured a 390 horsepower 4.2 liter V8, a six speed gearbox and dinner plate sized disc brakes at all four corners. Find this 2005 Jaguar S-Type R for sale on ebay for $9,900 buy-it-now, located in Layton, UT. This one has been in a few crashes but the bang/buck is undeniable.
Don’t like salvage titles?…Okay, here is a one owner British racing green 2005 Jaguar S-Type R offered for $13,500 BIN on ebay, located in Pittsburgh, PA. Heck, buy both and for the price of a new Camry you’ll always have one Jag to drive while the other is at the shop.
That metallic green is not BRG…
Correct. SInce its "metallic" its called Jaguar Racing Green 🙂
I remember a Road & Track issue that featured a Saleen car. For fun I calculated that for the price of the Saleen, you could buy ALL the other cars in the same issue: A M5, AMG Merc, RS6(?) Audi and the above Jaguar comparo, a Subaro Impreza and Mitsu EVO comparo, and a Neon SRX-T or whatever it's called, and you still had a couple thousand left.
I checked the eBay site for the green one and I fell out of my chair when I read the seller's claim, "Jaguar has always been known to manufacture very reliable vehicles…" Uh, yeah, right. Reliable is the first thing everyone thinks when you say Jaguar, right up there with Honda and Toyota in fact.
another witty drive by Jaguar comment. Sorry guys , 1978 is long gone. Post Ford takeover things turned around in a major way. Things have in proved . Just keep in mind you are buying an 8 year car.
On the other hand , no one lusts after a 2005 beige Camry
My mechanic was always happy when I bought another Jag – put his son through several years of private schools. I've owned a dozen or so in the last thirty years. When they run right, they were terrific – and they look sexy and smell great – the ladies love them. but mine always spent way too much time in the shop
