10k: 1990 240SX with LS1 V8

The previous Nissan 240sx with a V8 engine swap featured on daily turismo was a bit of a hack job.  However – the Nissan S13 platform is well known for being durable and the stock truck based KA24 engine is often ditched for something more powerful.  This 1990 240sx has an LS1 V8 swap and is offered for $11k in Weld, ME via craigslist.

The S13 generation of Nissan 240sx was marketed as the Silvia in Japan and is a favorite for drifters on a low budget.  It offers manual transmission and rear wheel drive for dirt cheap prices, but the stock 140 horsepower SOHC engine leaves a bit to be desired.

The owner of this 240sx fixed his tire-burning woes by installing a fire breathing Chevy LS1 5.7 liter V8 into the front – making somewhere above the stock 310 horsepower and 340 ft-lbs of torque from the likely Camaro donor.  The power is put down via a T56 6 speed manual transmission and a Kaaaaaaz 1.5 way limited slip differential.  We like burning both tires when mashing the throttle so we approve of this LSD even though it wasn’t designed by a humidifier manufacturer.

The hood is up in the final picture in the ad – does this show how proud you will be to show this car off at car shows or foretell all the hours of trying to debug the issues relating to putting something where it doesn’t belong?

This isn’t a car for everyone – but that doesn’t matter – it only needs to be the daily turismo for one lunatic …is it you?  email us here:  tips@dailyturismo.com
