This next Volvo 122S Amazon brings back memories of a certain similar car from 2013 that hit an astounding $36k at auction before being relisted and selling for a slightly less perplexing $18k. Thankfully, today’s 122S does not have a price hyped up by various cheerleader websites that offer zero editorial content and simply pander to the needs of soon to be deep pocketed sellers — not yet at least. Find this 1967 Volvo 122S Amazon offered for $9,500 in Anchorage, AK via craigslist. Tip from Zach
For less than $10k you are getting a decent looking Amazon with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a cool set of Minilite style wheels. Why would you want an Amazon? Because it offers a combination of driveability and vintage 60’s cool that is hard to beat for the same price.
Under the hood is Volvo’s B18 pushrod equipped 4-banger that puts out something around 95 horsepower when equipped with dual carbs for the US market. It would be interesting to find out what lives under those sheepskin seat covers, but the dash and door cards look good — how much can it cost to have those seats redone?
