• Wow, wrap on top of wrap? I'd delete the carbon fiber tape wrap, paint all the red logos black and look for a different set of reyimmmms. Would still be alt, but less ghetto and pretty cool.

  • The Ferrari/Maserati F136 V8 engine was also used in both the Quattroporte and Grand Turismo models thru the years, and is arguably the most durable platform Ferrari ever made. Before I got my Charger SRT, I was seriously in the market for a used Quattroporte and learned of many owners with 100k+ miles on theirs with zero major issues. The problems were with the transmissions and some peripheral stuff (mainly steering racks). Best bang for the buck "exotic" out there and the exhaust note is epic at full song.

    • I've eyeballed them and think that one would be a lot of fun. However, I'd be worried if anything went wrong with it, parts budget on these might get pretty scary or maybe I'm just still shell-shocked from the Bi-Turbo (just say no friends) I had back in the day for all of 1500 miles.

    • Totally understand. It would have more or less been my daily and I could afford to buy a nice, clean, low miles Quattroporte GT S, but the "what if" cost is what kept me away. The later model ZF transmissions were way better than the earlier/funky DuoSelect trannys, but sheez……. that dang WHAT IF!

  • Maserati's crankshafts are cross-plane as opposed to Ferrari's flat-plane crankshaft in their V8 engines. That’s why they don’t sound the same and the Ferrari probably has a bit less rotating mass I would guess.
