• A Jaguar with an american V8 it referred to as a "lump". I have owned 6 old Jaguars, and worked on many more. The most reliable part of the car is the engine. The swap hasn't added any reliability or reduced any cost. The time, effort and money spent on the swap hasn't increased the value of this car.

  • This Jag engine is for sale near to me and for some reason I want it. Don't know what I would do with it, Maybe add it to my english engine collection. I have a 1953 AJS engine sitting on a sculpture stand already.

There is also a XK8 for sale for $800. Maybe I could swap this into it
    1966 Jaguar 4.2L Straight 6 Triple Carb

  • I don't feel that anybody drops a small block Chevrolet into a Jaguar to make a killing reselling them. I think the main reason is that it is more economical to use a sbc than to repair the original engine. An added bonus is that the cars already have a GM automatic transmission.
